About Us

Our Mission
The mission of Energy for Refugees is to use sustainable technologies in order to alleviate the energy poverty of refugees, making a real impact on their lives. We want to contribute to solving the energy problem which will allow sustainable development. We aim to reduce the dependency on public parties and make the places where refugees live more autonomous while engaging the refugees for setting up this energy system and later maintaining it by themselves.
How we work
At Energy for Refugees, we believe that access to clean energy shouldn’t be a privilege. Our work is built on cooperation, inclusion, and innovation, bringing together (mainly) students from different backgrounds—engineers, physicists, chemists, etc—to create sustainable energy solutions for refugee camps all around the world . We work with local companies for our projects, aiming to provide reliable access to energy for vocational training centers, schools, small NGOs, and essential services. Our pragmatic approach ensures that every project is scalable, self-sustaining, and designed for long-term impact, fostering resilience and energy independence for communities worldwide. Every year, 4 new teams are selected and new projects are carried out!
